Meeting At Talita Khumi with the Canaan Project
Out of a long-term networking program for women in Palestine and Israel, Ina Darmstädter initiated the Canaan Conference (www.canaanproject.org) in Berlin at the Ministry for Foreign Affairs in October 2018. Heike took part in this Conference. This circle works mainly on the implementation of the UN Security Council Resolution 1325 as a tool to empower female Palestinian and Israeli activists on a governmental and non- govermental level to participate in the process of peace and healing in their region of conflict. We met in March at Talita Khumi (Beit Jala) to strengthen the connection and share the main ideas of GEN as well as our tools of conscious leadership in complexity, transformative coaching and trauma integration in community to support the project in their next steps. There was a very positive resonance and openness to co-create together. We will be involved in another bigger women summit in Autumn 2019, as well as a Peace March for women and a Conference in Palestine around the International Women’s Day on the 8th of March 2020. Miriam Toukan (top photo) is working on a song to lead and inspire the movement.
Day workshop at Dalia Association, Ramallah
We worked with the staff of Dalia Association in a very practical way as they are undergoing some changes in their all female office. We touched on the personal and on the organisational levels, growing a sense of unity and deeper understanding between the staff members. We also propose to continue the work with these women by meeting online over the nexts months until we come back.
Day workshop at House of Light, Dahab / Sinai
We offered an open day-workshop for men and women where mostly men came from the region of Cairo. It was an intensive learning about how energy works in our bodies and in collective spaces in their different frequencies. We taught about principles of conflict resolution, the power of trauma, structure and the evolutionary impulse in us and how to find a subtle guidance towards a transformative culture. Our first impulse to go there to meet Bedouin Women didn’t work out; as they are a truly protected and secluded group. We might try it again next time at another place with a different network.
Weekend workshop at Beit Ashams, Bethlehem
We worked with women who are coming regularly to this yoga centre which is becoming a community centre of healing and empowerment over the past four years. We first collected their challenges and wishes and then went into the different qualities of the physical, emotional, mental and energetic bodies to find a deeper understanding of the language of themselves as a part of the collective. We crystallized our individual and collective themes in the circle through a guided deep somatic sharing, which led us into a constellation of the collective female body. The women were very receptive for the work and we plan to come back in Autumn for a retreat at a powerful nature-place with a growing women circle.
